The following matters were considered at the meeting of the Martletwy Community Council held in Lawrenny on January 8. Planning: There were no objections to planning applications for the upgrading of existing toilet facilities at Cwm Deri Vineyard, Martletwy; the conversion of agricultural buildings to two dwellings at Landshipping Farm, Landshipping; and for overhead power lines to serve the Bluestone complex. Lawrenny Post Office: The meeting was informed of the continuation of a service at Lawrenny Post Office, following an intense local campaign of opposition to its closure. Electoral review of community councils: The clerk provided a summary of the principles and procedures involved in the current review of the constitution and composition of community councils by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales and Pembrokeshire County Council. There were no observations to forward to the county council at this stage, but it was noted that draft proposals were to be expected by March 31, on which views would also be sought. Adoption of approved changes was expected in October 2007, before the next elections which are due to be held in 2008. Noticeboards: It was agreed to accept the additional noticeboard prepared for the council by the Pembrokeshire Youth Offending Team for installation at Cross Hands, once a suitable location had been agreed. A40 Improvement Scheme (Penblewin to Slebech Park): Members were able to consider the draft orders and plans for the Robeston Wathen bypass scheme. Next meeting: Monday, February 5, at 7.30 pm in Lawrenny Village Hall.
