Twenty-six-year-old Kaycee Blake from Pembroke Dock is celebrating her recent selection to the UK Mixed Martial Arts Team. Kaycee will join the team travelling to Bahrain, to compete in the world championships in November.
Kaycee started martial arts at a young age enjoying karate, progressing to boxing and kickboxing. Just over a year ago, she started training at BJJ Pembrokeshire, and is delighted that within such a short space of time she has been selected for the UK MMA team.
“I’m currently training six days a week, two-three sessions per day,” said Kaycee.
“It’s hard work, but with the support of Stuart Tyrie at BJJ, I’ve developed the confidence, fitness and skills that are needed to compete at such a high level.
“Competing at the world championships is a dream come true, and I’d like to thank Richard Graham from Big Brums for his generous sponsorship, without which I would not be able to take part.
“I’m training hard now focusing on the challenge ahead and very much looking forward to the big event in November in Bahrain,” added Kaycee.
