Shrewsbury Catholic Cathedral was the venue for the recent wedding of Simon Macdonald and Lucy Brannan The bride, a teacher, is the daughter of Chris and Elaine Brannan, of Shrewsbury, and the eldest granddaughter of Don and Rita Hurlow, of Cwm Gwennol, Saundersfoot. The bridegroom is the youngest son of Eddie and Pat Macdonald from the Wirral, Cheshire. Given away by her father, the bride looked beautiful in a white silk dress with perfect hair and full- length veil. She carried a bouquet of hand-tied orchids. She was attended by Elizabeth and Bridget Miles, India and Sofia Rex, bride's friends, Eleanor Reed and Hannah Hurlow, bride's cousins, and flower girl, Hannah Newman, bride's cousin, and page boy, Matthew Macdonald, groom's nephew. The bridesmaids wore antique rose silk dresses and also carried hand-tied bouquets. Following the ceremony, which was conducted by Cannon Hoban, a reception was held at Albright Hussey Hotel in Shrewsbury. The couple spent their honeymoon in Malaysia and will be making their home in Liverpool.
