The wedding of Mr. Mark Slack, of Lamphey, and Dr. Angharad Renault, of Penally, took place at St. Nicholas Church, Penally, on December 6.

The groom, who works in insurance, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Laura Slack, of Lamphey, while the bride, a doctor at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, is the daughter of Mrs. Lesley Renault, of Penally, and Mr. Christopher Renault, of Jersey.

Given away by her mother, the bride wore a ivory strapless floor-length gown with lace overlay. She carried a simple handtied bouquet with ivory roses, white gerberas, white heather, red berries and ivy.

Attending her were bridesmaids Emily Rodham and Kate D'arcy, who wore knee lengthred dresses in keeping with the red, green and gold winter-theme of candles and ivy, which saw the church decorated with hundreds of tealights and the congregation singing carols instead of hymns.

Best man was Tom D'arcy, while the ushers were the groom's brothers, Neil, Paul and Gary Slack.

During the service, the bride and groom's friend Nia Phillips and bride's brother, Gareth Renault, gave readings, while her brother Owen Renault was witness at the signing of the register.

There was music by string group Stringdipity during the service and to walk down the aisle to.

The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Michael John and was followed by a reception at Lamphey Court Hotel. It was indeed a fun wedding, with the groom's nieces and nephews handing out confetti from cones they had made themselves, there was a quiz about the bride and groom during the reception, plus craft packs for the children in attendance, while in the evening, there was a children's games room set up for everyone to enjoy.

The couple are making their home in Cardiff.
