CAPT. R. MOORHOUSE
CAPT. V. H. JONES
Married recently at the Royal Memorial Chapel, Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, were Victoria Helen Jones, of the Royal Army Medical Corps, and Robert Stephen Moorhouse, of the Royal Staffordshire Regiment.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Alan and Gwenda Jones, formerly of Tenby, while the groom is the son of Stephen and Maggie Moorhouse, of Auborn, Lincolnshire.
Guests attended from Australia, Gibraltar, Germany, Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, to help the couple celebrate their special day.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and entered the chapel to the strains of the Trumpet Voluntary, played by a lone trumpeter from the Band of the Prince of Wales Regiment, accompanied by the organist.
She wore an ivory strapless bodice, trimmed with seed-pearls in duchess satin, over a matching skirt and full-length train. Over this she wore a Bolero style jacket with matching trim and a full cathedral-length veil.
The bride was attended by Rachel Treadaway from Redberth and Claire Prout from Saundersfoot, both friends from Greenhill School, and Nicola Tracey from London, a friend from university.
Also attending was three-week-old Grace Moorhouse, the groom's niece.
They all wore mulberry silk bodices and skirts with a pearl trim.
The best man was Capt. Andy Cox, a fellow officer in the Staffordshire Regiment, and the service was conducted by Lt. Col. Robert Mitchell, Chaplain to the Royal Academy.
During the service, readings were from Bethan Jones-Hughes, the bride's sister, and Major Caroline Rogers, of the Queen Alexandra Nursing Corps, who served with the bride in Bosnia.
After the service, the couple, the attendants and guests left the chapel through a Guard of Honour made up of officers from the Staffordshire Regiment with swords raised.
During the reception at the Officers Mess, The former Staff College at Sandhurst, a magnificent cake, decorated with Welsh slate and red roses and made by their brother-in-law, Karl Jones-Hughes, was cut by the couple using the Regimental Sword, and after very amusing speeches from the bride's sister and father, guests were entertained by members of The Prince of Wales Regiment Swing Band.
The couple are currently honeymooning on a walking safari in Tanzania and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, after which they return to active service overseas.
