The wedding took place at the Church of St. Mary The Virgin, Pembroke, on Saturday, of Mr. Andrew Richard Buckley and Miss Sophie Marie Parsons. The groom, a self-employed tiler, is the son of Alan and Pamela Buckley, of Golden Lane, Pembroke, while the bride, a civil servant, is the daughter of Miss Helen McDermott and Mr. Andrew Hatton, of West Grove Lane, Hundleton. Given away by Mr. Hatton, the bride looked delightful in an Italian designer tafetta gown, which was light plum in colour, with a corsetted bodice and full skirt, with beading detail. She also wore a white marabou feather shrug. Attending her as bridesmaid was her only sister, Mrs. Laura Lewis, while best man was Mr. Darrell Buckley (brother) and ushers were Mr. Drew Buckley (brother), Mr. Steven Lewis (brother-in-law) and Mr. Brad McDermott-Jenkins. During the service, which was conducted by Rev. Roger Jones, a reading was given by Mrs. Rosalind Silcox, a family friend. Afterwards, a reception was held at the Beggars Reach Hotel, Burton. The couple, who will be honeymooning in Tanzania and Zanzibar in the new year, will be making their home at West Grove Lane, Hundleton.
