Mark Thomas, of Haverfordwest, has completed the whole of the Wales Coast Path, almost 900 miles, walking it on behalf of Shalom House Hospice in St. Davids. He took 55 walks to complete it, after originally starting on June 1. He needed a break of three weeks after over-doing the distances, when walking from Chester to Anglesey in the first week of June. He resumed the walk at the end of June and arrived at the official end of the route at Chepstow, in South Wales, on Saturday, August 30. He said that this walk was something he had wanted to achieve since August 2001 after completing the Pemb rokeshire Coast Path in seven days, also for Shalom House. He raised £730 from the Pembs. walk, and currently, sponsorship for his Wales walk is in excess of £800. Sponsorship for the walk is still being collected by staff of Shalom Hospice and hopefully the full amount will be known in the future.
