A group of 40 individuals participated in the recent Cardiff Half Marathon 2017 raising funds and awareness for Wales Air Ambulance.
Margaret’s Milers from Narberth began the race together, and all completed the course, with a range of finishing times, from 1.45 - four hours.
Margaret’s Milers was formed earlier in the year by Andrew Jenkins (co-ordinater) after the Wales Air Ambulance crew attended to his mum (Margaret), in Narberth town centre on December 1, 2016, when she suffered a massive heart attack.
The team, Margaret’s Milers, have been raising money all year with various events, treasure hunts, discos, danceathons, etc, but the half marathon was the big event they had all been building up to.
“I would like to thank and congratulate all the team members for their dedication and determination on race day and for all their hard work and training leading up to the event,” said Andrew.
“A massive thank you must also be extended to our supporters and cheer leading teams who encouraged us all on our way.”
Sponsorship is still coming in and should you wish to donate to the team, and Margaret’s Milers cause, you can do so at www.justgiving.com/margaretsmilers
The team is hoping to raise £10,000 to donate to Wales Air Ambulance and once all monies are collected, a final figure will be published.
Andrew would like to extend his thanks and best wishes to everyone who has been involved in these recent fundraising activities.
