FOLLOWING another successful charity marathon walk, Clive Lewis, of New Hedges, was delighted that his recent fund-raising effort, which saw him embark on a 100-mile trip across London, managed to raise £2,553.50 for Diabetes UK. Although Clive's marathon account still remains open at the Pembroke branch of Lloyds for further donations, he has decided to donate £2,000 of the money raised to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, who urgently require funds for a 72-hour blood sugar monitoring system for adults and children. "I am donating the sum to Withybush in order to help them purchase the unit in the new year, while the surplus amount will go towards the Diabetic Clinic at Tenby Health Centre for necessary equipment," revealed Clive, who has walked eight 100-mile marathons over the past 16 years, with his intentions to continue to raise funds for the charity in the future. "May I take this opportunity to thank all firms, organisations, friends, neighbours and associates for the kind donations they have given me for this very worthy cause," added Clive.

Clive Lewis is pictured presenting a cheque for over £2,500 to Diabetes UK Tenby and District president, Mr. Edward Harries.
