A TRIO of runners have successfully raised over £4,000 for charity after taking part in the Cardiff Half-Marathon.

Former Tenby United and Narberth rugby player, Adrian Chiffi, his fiancée Sophie Shannon, who both hail from Tenby, but now live in Bridgend, and a business colleague of Adrian's, Darren Raz-Nick, raised the magnificent total of £4,350.

Adrian's brother Martin Chiffi, 43, who lives in Tenby, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago and in gratitude of the wonderful care he continues to receive from Mr. James's Parkinson's clinic at Withybush Hospital, it was decided that the funds raised be split, with £1,800 going to Pembrokeshire and Derwen NHS Trust for Withybush Hospital Parkinson's Clinic, £1,800 to the Parkinson's Disease Society (Pembrokeshire branch) and £750 direct to the Parkinson's Disease Society. The total fund will be boosted to £5,568 after 'gift aid' has been added.

The trio are truly grateful for all of the sponsorship and support from all members of their families, local residents, business people and visitors received for this event and they look forward to raising more funds and awareness for Parkinson's in the future.
