TWO local Woolworths employees successfully completed the gruelling 26.2 mile London Marathon on Sunday to raise much-needed funds for two charities, the Special Care Baby Unit at Withybush and Ty Hafan children's hospice.  The pair, Adam Goy from Saundersfoot, who is assistant manager at the Milford Haven branch, and Floyd Vaughan from Templeton, have both been training hard over the last four months since they secured a place in the world's most popular marathon.  Adam, who ran for the first time, managed to clock a time of four hours 36 minutes. This was Floyd's second go at the marathon and he managed the run in four hours one minute, knocking 25 minutes off his first attempt in 2000. "The actual atmosphere from the crowds around London was totally out of this world," said Adam. "Getting towards the end, I started to hit that wall. All I kept thinking about was the children in the hospice in Ty Hafan who we were raising the money for which kept me on track right until the end," added Floyd. "We would also like to thank all friends and family for all the help and support they have given to help raise this money." The two (pictured) are hoping to collect their sponsorship over the next month and revisit Ty Hafan and the Special Care Baby Unit to present the two charities with their much-needed money.
