TWO local Woolworths employees are set for a spot of fund-raising running when they take up the challenge of the London Marathon on April 23. Floyd Vaughan, of Templeton, who is store manager of Woolworths in Cardigan and previously worked at the Tenby branch for five years, will be joined by Adam Goy, of Saundersfoot, an assistant manager at Woolworths in Milford Haven, in taking part in the marathon. The two men are running to raise money for two charities, the Withybush Hospital Baby Unit in Haverfordwest and Ty Hafan Children's Hospice of Wales, which cares and provides children with respite, palliative and end of life care. Both Floyd and Vaughan have run several 5k runs and also the Tenby 10k run, but now look forward to a bigger challenge. "We've decided to give the 26.2 run around the sights and streets of London a go and in doing so hope to raise some money for two great causes," said Floyd. Anyone wishing to support the two runners through sponsorship can contact Floyd on 01239 612473, Adam on 01646 692518 or call in to their nearest Woolworths store.
