Another sunny Saturday at Manorbier saw the pitch looking spectacular and it is surely now one of the best pitches in the league.

In front of a good crowd, Manorbier kicked off with a different set up, which saw Phil Christopher and Ben Hall up front, Paul Maytum and Robbier Izzard in the middle and Robbie Vincent and Austin John in the wings.

Manorbier got off to a flyer, with a goal coming out of a good move and cross by Ben Hall, leaving Phil Chris to half-volley into the net.

Unfortunately, the match then began to suffer through continuous free-kicks and yellow cards and the first half ended with Manorbier still holding on to their one goal advantage.

The second half again saw Manorbier playing some good football and creating lots of chances for Phil Chris and Ben Hall, and even Robbie Izzard and Paul Maytum managed to get into the box.

Maytum duly scored from a Phil Chris cross with a header into the top corner.

Manorbier now started to relax - much to their undoing, because Boro' managed to get a goal back from a corner.

A past Manorbier side might have panicked at this, but the young Manorbier of today just picked up the pace and scored another as Phil Chris calmly slotted the ball home.

The Boro' knew the game was all but won, especially when one of their players was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The last minute saw Mike Brown miss an open gaol as he hit the ball over the bar from three yards out with the goalkeeper stranded.

This was an encouraging performance and hopefully the boys can go from strength to strength.

With Herbrandston away tomorrow (Saturday), this will be a big test.
