In a continuation of their present form, Manorbier showed no mercy to a stunned Hakin team last Saturday.

The score could have been double figures but for some poor finishing from a handful of players; maybe it was too easy?

The approach work was commendable from Manorbier as they tore Hakin apart on numerous occasions, but only for the recently prolific forward partnership of Maytum and Schuster to squander several easy opportunities.

The break-through did come through after 10 minutes with the impressive Dave Blackwell finishing from 12 yards. Blackwell then increased the lead with a well worked goal, 2-0 at half-time, but the scoreline should have read more like six.

Several words exchanged at half time by the Manorbier team as to why they were not more goals up, but after an orange, normal play resumed for the second half.

Hakin started to press the Manorbier goal, but Tom Christopher in goal played a man-of-the-match performance with some excellent agile saves form several Hakin efforts.

The goal of the game came for Manorbier with a free kick taken by Austyn John for Liam Robson to score with a diving header; a well-taken goal. That made it 3-0.

Another free kick from John then led to Paul Maytum scoring with a header; maybe his day was to be with the use of his head, not his feet!

A frustrated Hakin side started to become physical at times, but Manorbier kept their heads and continued to press forward. Dave Blackwell completed his hattrick with a weaving run and he made no mistake with a cross shot past the 'keeper.

On the final whistle, it was a performance that was not Manorbier's best, but the scoreline was a welcome one.

Along with three points awarded for a game played in October where their opposition played an eligible player, Manorbier move up the table with 17 points.

Coach Robbie Thomas said after the game: "We are heading in the right direction; we could still do with a few more players to strengthen our squad, but that's for next season. We are confident going into our next game at the Bridge."
