A local girl, Jackie Izzard, from Manorbier, was a recent finalist in the RAF's prestigious Worshipful Company of Cooks Award.
Corporal Jackie Izzard, an RAF chef, is currently serving at RAF Buchan and has been on operational duties to Pristina, Kosovo and more recently, the Falkland Islands.
A former student at Haverfordwest Catering College, Jackie still has close links with the county as most of her family live in the local area.
Competing against some of the RAF's top chefs, she had to prepare a gourmet meal under the eagle-eye of international culinary judges.
Squadron Leader Keith Willox, Officer Commanding Catering Training Squadron, said: "Corporal Izzard is to be congratulated on a superb performance in the final stages of this highly contested competition. We are now training a mass of young chefs and she has shown them what they can achieve with their craft skills."
Corporal Izzard is seen receives the award from Mr. Michael Messent, the Master of the Worshipful Company of Cooks, of London.
