A 33-year-old man accused of a spate of house burglaries in Tenby has been remanded in custody.
Darren John Inder, of Chamberlain Road, Neath, has been charged in relation to 15 dwelling burglaries between June 11 and June 25, when money and cash cards were taken. He is also charged with two counts of possession of Class A drugs.
John, who was arrested last week, appeared before Llanelli magistrates on Saturday, when he was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on July 10.
An incident room had been set-up at Tenby Police Station conducting enquiries into these burglaries, and officers were seconded from all parts of the force to assist.
A substantial number of properties in Tenby have been visited by the house to house teams which has produced an excellent response from the public. The incident team are grateful for the support and information provided by members of the public.
Local Neighbourhood Police Officers have been conducting extra patrols throughout the last few weeks to provide support and re-assurance to the public. This has been supported by the work of the Bobby Van in providing additional security measures and crime prevention advice for vulnerable and elderly residents.
"Burglaries of this nature are rare in Pembrokeshire, but Dyfed Powys Police recognises the impact this type of crime has on local residents and will always treat them as a priority," said a police spokesman.
Tenby Neighbourhood Policing team will continue to work closely with the local community providing reassurance and responding to local needs and concerns.
