A man who has a fear of being touched by other people appeared before magistrates this week after becoming angry and aggressive at being ejected from a local pub.
Police attended at the Prince of Wales public house shortly after 11.15 pm on April 29 to find Timothy George Eaton being pushed out of the pub by licensee, Mr. Peter Brown.
He was shouting and swearing and tried to lunge at one of the officers, prosecutor, Mr. David Weale, told the magistrates sitting in the town on Tuesday.
Eaton, who was also found in possession of 1.4 grammes of cannabis resin, was subsequently arrested and placed in handcuffs, but he continued to be aggressive and abusive towards the officers.
During police interview, Eaton made full and frank admissions and he volunteered an apology for being a nuisance at the pub.
Defence solicitor, Mr. Mike Kelleher explained to the court that Eaton suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and has a permanent carer looking after him. However, on the night in question, 48-year-old Eaton had gone out without the carer and had got into some difficulties.
"He is a binge drinker and he had over-indulged," said Mr. Kelleher, who explained that Eaton, who used the cannabis resin as an alternative to other drugs, was moving to Tenby from Cardiff.
"He is anxious to get this case over with so that he can make a new start in Tenby," Mr. Kelleher pointed out.
"He has a fear of people touching him and most of this case revolves around people touching him," continued the solicitor.
"He also has a rather loud voice, but he apologises for over-reacting.
"It was a one-off. He has very little recollection of the incident," Mr. Kelleher added.
Eaton admitted offences of fear or provocation of violence and possessing the cannabis resin.
He was fined £50 on each charge and ordered to pay £50 costs. A destruction order was also made for the cannabis resin.
