A meeting to discuss ways of making Tenby more festive has been arranged for next week.

Recent discussions on Christmas lighting in the resort drew comments from the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, who felt that Tenby needed to be giving something more to attract people to the town during the festive period.

She also said that it would be good to see a return of a Christmas lights turning on ceremony, and suggested one similar to years gone by when Father Christmas was brought into town by the RNLI lifeboat crew.

"We should start small and get some ideas together from different organisations and groups from the town and get cracking on this," Clr. Mrs. Lane told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.

A Christmas lighting meeting was arranged for 7 pm, on Tuesday, in the Mayor's Parlour.
