Over the course of the next few months, a number of new trees will be planted in and around Narberth. Planting will take place up until January and it is hoped to involve local school children and other organisations in the planting.

On Saturday, Angela Burns AM planted the first tree at the Town Moor, with help from the town's county council representative, Clr. Wynne Evans, Simon Hart, the Conservatives' prospective Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire parliamentary candidate, and Adam and Elinor. Also pictured is local resident Samantha Jenkins with her children Tyler and Jack.

Said Mrs. Burns: " A few old trees are having to go to make way for an exciting new skate and BMX park and this is one of the saplings that are being planted to help landscape the area. The skate park will be state of the art and fully lockable and it's hoped that it will win full planning permission in the next few weeks."

"In all, we are planting 30 oak, ash and beech trees on the moor and around the town. Trees are good for the environment and as Narberth is still very much a rural town, the planting will only add to the area," said Clr. Wynne Evans.
