Completing your GCSEs this year? Want to find out your best options to go to university or start your career? Then go along to Pembrokeshire College's open day on Wednesday, November 12, between 5 and 8 pm.

The college has the largest choice of courses and best facilities in the county for 16 year olds, so it's no wonder that popular courses starting in September 2009 can fill up before Christmas.

At the open day, you will be able to chat to tutors and career advisors about your future and tour the superb facilities including the new £3.1m construction centre.

Specialist staff will be available to advise you about the most suitable course choices to match your career goals. You can also learn about gaining an extra 120 UCAS points for university entrance with the Welsh Baccalaureate.

If you're aiming high academically, you can find out about the college's excellent results and progression opportunities; the Federation's range of Advanced Levels where 32 fully taught AS-Levels can be mixed and matched in many combinations depending on your skills and goals; strong support and tutorial system that tracks your work with targets and helps prepare you for university or work.

The 17 BTEC National Diplomas taught at college have good progression routes to vocational university courses and are worth three A-Levels. They are also recognised by employers for their useful practical skills.

College facilities for students are excellent and include recording and performance studios; engineering, boat building, construction, and design workshops; its own theatre, restaurant, coffee shops, hair and beauty salons; a sports lab and gym; and IT suites for business, design and computing.

The first phase of the 10-year plan to invest £30m in remodelling its Haverfordwest campus was completed in the summer with the opening of a dedicated £3.1m construction centre. The next phase is to build an engineering and energy centre by 2010.
