Seven-year-old golfer, Luke Harries, a member of South Pembs and Trefloyne Golf Clubs, is going from strength to strength. Several weeks ago, Luke won his category in the Haverfordwest Junior Open, beating off juniors more than twice his age. Then, more recently, Luke competed in the British Student Championships at Whittlebury Park Golf Resort, Northampton. The conditions for the day were far from ideal, blustery winds and heavy rain, on top of an already wet course. After 18 holes, Luke was tied for first place, having shot 67 (+1), but had to settle for second at the end of the day after being edged out of the top spot in a play-off. The final bit of good news for Luke has come from the 'US Kids Golf' Foundation. Based on his scores this year, Luke has received an invitatation back to Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA in three weeks time, to represent the UK again in the Junior World Championships. It's all go for Luke and we wish him all the very best!
