On Friday evening, I travelled from Cardiff to Tenby to hear a performance by Aled Jones, Elinor Bennett and supporting artists at the De Valence Pavilion.
This was part of the Tenby Arts Festival 2003, and I write this letter now to express my appreciation at the wonderful work that must be put into organising this event, year after year.
The performance opened with a beautiful singer, Katherine Jenkins. Her voice was magnificent, and her demure and graceful appearance on stage was a delight.
Elinor Bennett was, as expected, perfection and her friendly manner made the performance a real joy.
Listening to Aled Jones was a real joy, as his voice has now developed into such a pleasing and very accomplished tone.
A very enjoyable young string duo, named 'Duel' were thrilling and I am sure deserve great success. All in all, a most memorable evening.
My thanks to the most hardworking committee of the Tenby Arts Festival. Their time and effort to organise such a wonderful week, with such attention to detail, is most gratifying.
Having lived in Tenby for four years (and unfortunately having had to return to Cardiff), I can only wonder at the prices charged for these wonderful events. I know only too well the similar prices charged here in Cardiff, (with all the effort involved in travelling and parking) for these concerts.
I am sending my cheque to the committee to become another of the Friends of the Tenby Arts Festival to hopefully assist in a very small way, towards the organising of future magnificent events in Tenby.
I wish I had been able to be in Tenby for the whole week to enjoy the Festival to the full. I am particularly sorry to have missed Laurie Dale and Pauline Allen at the Pam Pam on Friday, as their contribution is always so enjoyable and their efforts given tirelessly year after year.
Lucky Tenby to have this wonderful Arts Festival and I look forward to 2004.
