The charity worker who won a stunning evening bag created by a Pembrokeshire designer at a star- studded fund-raising event has described herself as the luckiest lady in the world. "It is the most beautifully made bag I have ever owned, I have already received lots of compliments about it,' said Jennie Thomas, an event manager for Autism Cymru. "The only problem is that I'm now going to have to spend a small fortune on a pair of shoes to match!'  Gaynor Davies-Howell created the red leather bag, decorated with Swarovski crystals, specifically for the glitzy charity event in Cardiff. It is the second year running she has donated one of her exclusive GDH designs to the Caregos Couture fund-raiser. The event, which raised money for a number of charities, was attended by some of the 15 Welsh celebrities who were each asked to design a piece of jewellery, including the opera singer, Shân Cothi, weather presenter, Siân Lloyd, and the Welsh harpist, Catrin Finch.  Tickets bought for the event went into a draw for prizes, which included the jewellery and Gaynor's bag. Gaynor was delighted that the bag was won by someone who worked for one of the charities. The bag took her four days to make in her converted chapel workshop at Penffordd, from the design stage to the final polish. She uses only vegetable tanned hide for her creations. In keeping with the natural theme of the bags, each is hand-stitched. She has several signature designs, but her favourite is the 'Belle', so named because it bears a striking resemblance to a bell. She based her charity bag on this design. As well as making bags, Gaynor also runs workshops for youth groups, such as scouts and guides.
