People passing Pembroke Town Hall may have noticed that the two cannons guarding the entrance have disappeared.

Both cannons, which were presented to Pembroke in 1999 are mounted on a wooden base.

Due to water ingress, the bases are now in urgent need of remedial work and new bases made from oak are being made by a local craftsman.

The photograph shows one of the cannons being removed.
