This brings me to our photo spot; the photograph was given to me by Betty who was so very supportive of our work.
"We didn't have much when I was a child," she told me, "we made our own fun" - and one of the things she loved was swimming in the Pembroke River at Colley's Landing. This happy group of children includes Betty (far right) and thank you to her brother Charlie for naming them all for us.
From left: Ivor Evans, William Blunsden (Billy), Melbourne Blunsden (Melly), John Picton, Edward Lewis (Eddy). Robert Taylor (Bobby), Charles Blunsden (Charlie), Anthony Blunsden (Tony), Maureen Rees, Joan Mathias ? Elizabeth Blunsden (Betty Harris).
A reminder about our Local History coffee morning tomorrow (Saturday) 10.30 am - 1 pm, at Monkton Priory Church Hall. We have an exhibition of old photographs on the theme of 'Entertainment in Times Past' and please bring along any photos you may have for scanning.
