A group of South Pembrokeshire Steps 2Health walkers took part in their longest walk yet at the weekend to mark the longest day of the year.

Eleven walkers from the Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock and Tenby community walk groups stepped out through Castlemartin Range West on Sunday, June 21.

The group walked from Stack Rocks and the Green Bridge of Wales at the eastern edge of the range along the southern coast to Linney Head, before turning north towards Frainslake beach and finishing at Brownslade Gate.

On their way, the walkers saw an abundance of birds and flowers, as well as spectacular coastal scenery, little changed by agriculture for over 70 years.

The 6.2 mile walk was the latest in a series of quarterly progression walks aimed at gradually improving the health of participants.

Steps2Health is a Health Challenge Pembrokeshire project and part of the Welsh Assembly Government's 'Let's Walk Cymru Initiative' managed nationally by the Sports Council for Wales.

The walks are free and open to all abilities.
