Two Tenby firefighters have picked up ‘Long Service’ awards at a ceremony held at the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s HQ - recognising 30 and 40 years of dedication.
On the evening of Wednesday, November 12, MAWWFRS held its Long Service and Good Conduct Awards Ceremony at Carmarthen Headquarters, recognising Service personnel who have dedicated 30 and 40 years to the organisation.
The evening’s ceremony celebrated personnel from both the Western and Southern Divisions, with awards presented by Deputy Chief Fire Officer Iwan Cray.
The awards were divided into two groups – 40-year and 30-year awards. Everyone was welcomed to stage, individually to receive their award along with a framed Certificate of their achievement.
The ceremony began with Group Manager Nick Rees presenting awards to personnel receiving their 40-year awards, with Firefighter Peter Lewis from Tenby Fire Station; Watch Manager Keith Jenkins from Haverfordwest Fire Station; and Euros Edwards from Crymych Fire Station among those to be recognised.
The second half of the ceremony was presented by Group Manager David Morgans, who presented the 30-year awards to amongst others - Watch Manager Jeremy Lees of Tenby Fire Station; Crew Manager Stephen Rickard from Haverfordwest Fire Station; Crew Manager Robin Mayne and Bernard Armstrong from Milford Haven Fire Station.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Iwan Cray Commented: "The evening is about celebration and a chance to acknowledge the incredible dedication from Service colleagues for all their hard work and years of commitment to reach their milestone of 30 and 40-years’ in Service.
“It was a privilege to welcome colleagues and their families to the awards this year,” he added.
