PEMBROKESHIRE College tutor Denise Gledhill recently introduced new students to an on-line degree in Enterprise.
The University of Glamorgan course is designed for anyone looking to develop the skills needed to start up a new business or improve an existing one. Students can study at home or work in their own time and there is also local support from college tutors.
The full BA Enterprise consists of 18 modules, but students can enrol on up to six modules each year, or only one, depending on their other commitments. The course, and all its on-line learning materials, is free thanks to Objective 1 support.
"I could not afford the cost of a traditional degree, but I am really excited about learning through this on-line course. It will fit in perfectly with my working life and I can easily fit work into evenings and weekends. It's a bonus that we can also meet fellow students and our support tutors if we want," said on-line learner Helen Scourfield.
"As it is on-line it will give me more flexibility to fit in my study. I will also be able to log on at work. I won't need to carry around lots of materials as the course is totally portable. The course will give me the skills to market and develop my business idea," said new student Rhys Sinnet.
There are still a few places on the course that has just started and the next intake is in May 2004. If you want a free, flexible and practical business skills course that can also give you a degree, contact the college admissions unit on 0800 716 236.
