Sir, Having read the extremely biased views expressed in last Friday's edition, regarding the proposed New Hedges development, we, the general public, are greatly perturbed that such a minority of persons, including the local council, are opposed The overwhelming consensus of local opinion conclusively proves that the development would be wholeheartedly welcome. It would provide more jobs, better paid jobs and local competition, which is desperately needed. There are so many persons in this area who have to travel to Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest or Carmarthen to achieve a decent day's shopping. There are also many persons who cannot afford or cannot get to these towns and are forced to rely on local stores such as the Spar, Londis etc. In Saundersfoot, in particular, there is no greengrocer in the winter months. A local supermarket is long overdue.
