Local students have been celebrating success in their Advanced and AS-Level examinations, the results of which were announced yesterday (Thursday). The overall pass rate for learners in Pembrokeshire schools was 98.3 per cent compared with the Wales national average of 97.5 per cent. The percentage of pupils in Pembrokeshire gaining A* and A grades was 19.7 per cent. Pembrokeshire's County Council's head of education, Kate Evan-Hughes, said: "Pembrokeshire's Advanced and AS Level students have performed well, maintaining the level of success seen in previous years. "Our young people and their teachers deserve to be congratulated on their performance. The results are due to the hard work of our students and the commitment of the teachers of Pembrokeshire."
