West Wales Cup one week, Senior Cup the next, although like last weekend, Narberth's participation in this year's event is over.
Drawn at home against Merlins Bridge, Peter Fearne's Bluebirds would have been confident of gaining a result against the Haverfordwest-based side, yet they failed to find the net throughout the game, while the visitors ran riot to score six.
Despite the Wizards being above them in the league, no-one would have predicted such a heavy margin of defeat for the home side and, with only the league to play for this year, they will hope this result is a one-off rather than a trend.
Kilgetty went the same way as their neighbours from up the road as they, too, bombed out of this year's competition.
Drawn away at Herbrandston, who like Kilgetty, were relegated from the first division last season, they would have hoped for something other than the 3-0 defeat that befell them; yet with a pitch that is as narrow as Kilgetty's is wide, home advantage went in Herbie's favour.
Carew had no trouble disposing of reformed Hook as they triumphed 8-1. Matthew Phillips was on fire for the home side as he scored four past the beleaguered visitors, with the other goals coming from Kris Stone, Iwan Izzard Brian Hall and Haydn Shapcott.
Tenby's winning streak continued as they beat Haverfordwest County 2-1 away. Darryl Mansbridge scored both goals for the Seasiders as Mike Lewis's side continue to improve.
Pendine's defence was once again in a generous mood as they let five goals slip into the back of the net in their home tie against Haverfordwest Cricket Club. Fortunately for the Seagulls, their offence was just as effective as they, too, slammed five past the visitors to push the match into penalties.
Robbie Waters's fine hat-trick together with Ricky Hunt's brace ensured the game went into the cruellest of ways in which to progress or bow out of the competition and they kept their cool to win 4-3 in what must have been one of the best spectacles in the league over the weekend.
Cup competitions are always famed for giant-killing exploits of lesser teams and St. Clears pulled off the shock result of the day as they defeated division one team Milford United 4-0.
Home advantage definitely went in the Saints' favour, despite playing two divisions below the visitors, as Owain Evans's two goals put the home side on their way, before an own goal and one by Steve Thomas ensured they go into the second round with their unbeaten record still intact.
Meanwhile, Saundersfoot Sports lost 3-1 at home against in form Neyland, with Danny Caine scoring the home team's solitary goal.
Some league games did take place in the lower divisions, although St. Clears' second team may have wished they hadn't as they travelled to Cosheston Cougars' second team and came home with a 2-0 defeat to their name.
Manorbier United and Lawrenny were involved in an epic tussle as United prevailed 5-3. Dave Blackwell and Ricky Rees-Thomas both scored twice for the home side, with Neil Lane adding the other, while Joe Kidney, Brad Jones and Neil Jenkins all scored for the visitors.
St. Florence scored five in their home win over Herbrandston seconds as they won 5-2. Ashley Smith continued his fine form this season to finish with a hat-trick, with James Whitehouse adding a brace for good measure as the home side strolled to an easy win.
Saundersfoot Seconds made the long journey to St. Ishmaels and finished with all three points in a close 2-1 win.
Jack Sayers and Gareth Hunt scored the goals for the village side against hardy opposition.
Manorbier United seconds narrowly lost out away at Haverfordwest Cricket Club as they lost 3-2. Jack Grover and Liam Carroll scored the goals for the visitors who are still searching for their first win of the season.
Lawrenny seconds went down 4-1 at home to Hundleton in a disappointing afternoon for them, the only bright spot being Nick Lawrence's goal.
Finally, there were no games over the weekend for Kilgetty seconds or their counterparts at Narberth.
