Narberth went down to a disappointing 3-1 away defeat at Johnston in an ill-tempered match that saw the visitors have a player sent-off.
Wayne Scourfield was sent packing by the referee following an incident that saw players from all sides getting involved. It followed a dangerous challenge on the Bluebirds player to which he took offence.
Being down to 10 men after four minutes wasn't the start Narberth would have wanted, yet despite their protestations that Johnston should have had a player sent-off too, they re-grouped well and competed for the majority of the half well. That said, they conceded a goal midway through the half that knocked them back going into the break.
Another mêlée involving both sides occurred in the second half, yet not before Narberth drew level thanks to a Richie Adams penalty. Johnston then scored a scrappy goal, after which the full scale brawl occurred.
No players were sent packing during that incident, yet it marred what had the potential to be an enthralling game. Johnston then put the game beyond doubt late on.
The result was the final straw for manager Nigel Thomas, who stood down after the game. Narberth chairman Steve Jones said it would be a huge loss.
"I don't want to see him go; he does a lot of unseen work behind the scenes and has been a good manager for us. It's not been the best of days for us recently.
"We're missing some key players such as Justin Blewitt and that affects us.
"We could have got something from this game. We did enough to secure a point at least, but we showed good spirit and re-grouped well after Wayne was sent off."
A strengthened Kilgetty side produced their best display of the season against high-flying Tenby, yet they still went down to another defeat. The 1-0 scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the game in which missed chances was the order of the day.
Tenby, who went a goal up in the first half through Mike Boswell, had the better of the first 40 minutes and missed chances of their own, while Kilgetty hit the bar twice in a matter of minutes when Ryan Howells was unlucky not to score in the second half, a half that saw them on top.
"We were unlucky not to get something from it to be honest," said manager Norman James. "It was a very good performance by us against a very good team. We played well enough to pick up some points and hopefully we will be able to do that over the Christmas period."
Despite not scoring as many goals as they should have, Seasiders' manager Mike Lewis had nothing but praise for his team.
"We didn't finish very well. We should have converted more of our chances. Fair play to them, they stuck in there and made it difficult for us, but the win was pleasing and James Phillips kept us in it with some excellent saves."
One team that went a step closer to achieving some consistency over the weekend was Pendine. They made the long trip to Angle and came away with a 2-0 win.
They did have elements in their favour, though, and that included the fact that Angle had two players sent-off in the second half.
After a slow start, the visitors went ahead thanks to a Craig Harder score before the break. Angle then went a man down, before another was dismissed moments later.
Sixteen-year-old Nathan Davies then got the all-important second to secure the win and with stand-in keeper Rob Thomas performing well once again, together with Davies and another youngster in Ricky Hunt, defeat was never on the cards.
"It was a tidy win," beamed manager Frank Roberts. "We got the point, that's the main thing. We missed some chances, so could've scored more, but we won and I'm happy."
Carew produced their best performance of the season to inflict a first league defeat for visitors Milford United.
The home side won 3-1, with in-form striker Haydn Shapcott opening the account with a pile driver from 25 yards. Brian Hall then repeated the feat with a spectacular goal of his own to make it 2-0 at half-time.
James Hinchliffe was then fouled in the box, with Shapcott converting the resulting penalty, before United pulled one back in the final 10 minutes of the game.
"The boys played well," said manager Barry Evans. "We started off really well this week, which was good to see, and were on top throughout. It's by far the best we have played all season and young Hinchliffe and new signing Jake Davies were outstanding for us."
Evans will be hopeful of more of the same next week. Not only will he be searching for more points for his team, but he'll be looking for an added excuse to celebrate his 40th birthday!
Saundersfoot pulled a rabbit out of a hat to avoid going down to defeat away at Lamphey.
The visitors were trailing 2-1 as the match entered the final few minutes, yet Geoff Marsh secured a share of the points with his second goal of the match, much to the relief of his side.
St. Clears went down 4-0 away at Milford Athletic, with a brace of goals in each half putting paid to any chance of success for Charlie Smith and his men.
Despite being 2-0 down at half-time, with the slope in their favour in the second half, the Saints had every reason to be confident of drawing level and sneaking some points, but an early goal in the second killed off any hopes of a comeback.
"We played really well in the first half," said Smith. "We just gave some soft goals away and that was disappointing.
"We've got a big game against Letterston next week and I was hoping for a result here to boost us before that, but it didn't come and we'll just have to try again on Saturday."
A last-gasp goal by Hakin United's second team sunk Narberth's reserves on Saturday as a draw looked the likely result.
Narberth came back from being 2-0 down to draw level at the break after goals by Tony Evans and a chipped finish by Marc O'Sullivan.
Despite matching them in every department, the visitors snuck one in the dying moments, much to Bluebirds' manager Adrian Howells's dismay.
"I'm gutted. We should have drawn that game. We did well to come back and showed what we could do, but that's football."
Lawrenny lost 3-0 away at Hubberston in their division three game, while a magnificent hat-trick by Mo Safin together with an own goal by Haverfordwest Cricket Club allowed Tenby seconds to win 4-2 at the Clicketts.
Kilgetty seconds lost their derby 4-2 away at Saundersfoot, with Matt Hancock and Ryan Lewis grabbing the Kingsmoor outfit's goals.
The Sports' goals were shared between Jack Sayers, Grant Hardy, Jamie Morgan and Luke Brolin.
Carew seconds lost 5-1 away at Monkton Swifts' seconds, with Tom Richards scoring the only goal for the visitors, while St. Florence earned a narrow win at home against Milford Athletic as they ended victorious 3-2. Ashley Smith continued his rich vein of form to score twice, with Mark Reed scoring the other for the home side.
Meanwhile, in division five, St. Clears lost 5-1 at home against West Dragons' reserves as Neil Thompson scored the home team's only goal.
