There were few games played throughout Pembrokeshire this week. Whether this was a result of the high winds or the Welsh international in Cardiff may never be known, although the shortened programme did spring up some interesting results.

One of these was at Neyland where Narberth paid them a visit and won 1-0. In a hard fought encounter, Jordan Williams's goal five minutes before the break was enough to separate the sides.

"It was an even contest," said manager Nigel Thomas. "We definitely deserved it though they had some fight in them due to their position in the league which made it hard for us, but all in all we deserved the points."

Carew are definitely relegated now following their 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Pennar Robins. Despite some encouraging performances of late, the home team were no match for the visitors and they succumbed to their 20th league defeat of the season. There were mitigating circumstances, however, as a host of players were in Devon celebrating a wedding.

Saundersfoot Sports enjoyed a fruitful afternoon at home against Fishguard, winning 7-3. The victory was helped in no small part to Danny Caine's excellent hat-trick, with Carl Wainwright also chipping in with three of his own. The other goal was scored by Gary Cunningham.

Pendine entertained Division Two promotion hopefuls Milord United and lost 2-0, while Division Three leaders St. Clears suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of Hundleton, despite having home advantage.

The Saints went down 3-1 and this puts them three points behind Hundleton in the league, although they do have a game in hand. The home side were 2-0 down at the break and, in the words of goalkeeper Jason Owens, 'played shockingly bad.'

Fortunately, their performance improved after the interval and Eddie Wiggins gave them hope through a penalty, although this was cancelled out when the visitors scored from the spot with just seconds remaining.

"We conceded two first half goals from corners," said Owens. "They were free headers and I was as much at fault as the defence. We got better in the second half and if we had played like that in the first half we would have won.

"We've still a long way to go before we can get promoted, but if we win every game, we will be ok."

Narberth Seconds' hopes of remaining in Division Three were helped by a 1-1 home draw against St. Florence, although manager Steve Jones concedes, with just three games remaining, it's going to be touch and go.

"If we win two, then we should be ok," he said. "Although we know it's going to be hard and tight. We could have won this game, but it just wasn't to be, but the players can't be faulted, they were excellent throughout the game."

A poor start to the game saw the Bluebirds 1-0 down at the break, although an improved second half showing brought them level when Chris O'Connell scored midway through the half.

Meanwhile, in Division Five, St. Clears travelled to Fishguard and made the laborious drive back in the knowledge they had just lost 3-0.
