After such an encouraging start to the season, Kilgetty have floundered of late, to such a degree they are now placed third from bottom in the first division; and their position wasn't helped after losing 3-1 away to Monkton over the weekend.
Playing against the Swifts is never an easy proposition and especially so when confidence is so low, yet there are no easy games in Division One and Kilgetty are finding this out the hard way.
The only highlight in an otherwise dreary display was Jack Bevan's goal, but in truth there was only one team in this and that was the home team.
Narberth are another team struggling slightly this season and they were forced to field some inexperienced players against last year's champions Merlins Bridge for their home game at Jesse Road.
The Bluebirds began bright enough and scored the opening goal after seven minutes, but although they created a few opportunities, they didn't manage to convert any of them, in stark contrast to the visitors, who managed to convert three of their own as they ran out comfortable winners.
In Division Two, Manorbier United travelled to Angle yet lost 6-0, while Saundersfoot Sports travelled to Haverfordwest Cricket Club for their game which they drew 1-1.
This would have been a fixture the Sports would have targeted as a three-pointer, yet they could only manage to draw the fixture thanks to a goal by Nielson Cole.
Tenby entertained Johnston and showed their class with a 2-1 win. Dean Rossiter and Sam Christopher scored the goals for the home team. Meanwhile, Pendine's home game against Milford Athletic was postponed.
In Division Three, Narberth Seconds travelled to Hubberston, yet lost 2-0, while Lawrenny travelled to Merlins Bridge to take on their second team and produced a fine display to win 3-1. Mike Beynon showed why he is regarded as one of the most talented players in the division as he scored all of the visitors' goals.
St. Clears bounced back from their shock defeat against Hundleton last weekend with a brilliant 12-1 win over Monkton Swifts' second team.
Eddie Wiggins was at it again, continuing his amazing scoring record and not content with scoring just the one goal, he finished with six to his name. Sam Thomas, another regular scorer for the Saints, completed a hat-trick, with Steve Trivet, Mike Leefe and Colin Reynolds sharing the other three goals between them.
St. Florence beat Solva 3-1, with Ashley Murdoch and Jordan Hawkins scoring for the home side, the former finishing with a brace, while in the second leg of the Division Four Cup clash between Johnston and Carew, the game was forced into extra-time.
With the teams level at 1-1 and 3-3 on aggregate, this was always going to be a close one and in the end, the game was decided on penalties. Sadly, for Carew, they lost 5-4 in the cruellest way possible.
There was better news for Kilgetty, however, as they went through 5-3 on aggregate, despite drawing 2-2 with Neyland. Rhys Hewson and Matthew Smith scored the goals for the home team, while Saundersfoot drew 3-3 at home against St. Ishmaels. Unfortunately, they lost 6-3 on aggregate.
Lawrenny's second team game in Division Five against Pendine was postponed, while play was possible at Tenby where the second team entertained Haverfordwest Cricket Club's reserves.
In an inspired display, the home team won the game 8-1, with James Howes and Mo Safin both scoring twice, while the other goals were scored by Mike Lindsay, Beau Prior, Marcus Lyons and a seasonal gift by the visitors, who scored an own goal.
