Division One
Camrose 0 Carew 4
Carew had a comfortable win away to Camrose in difficult conditions, with the combined effects of a strong wind and rain making ball control difficult. Despite the conditions, the visitors managed to play some quality football by keeping the ball on the deck. Carew took the lead with a goal from young striker Mike Boswell after 25 minutes and the more experienced James Buckle extended the lead before the interval. Carew had played against the wind in the first half, but managed to restrict Camrose to a limited number of scoring opportunities. In the second half, a penalty from Boswell extended the lead and James Buckle capped a fine performance to pick up his second goal of the match.
It was a good team performance by Carew and James Buckle showed that he is back to his best after recovering from injury.
Speaking after the match, team manager Mike Lewis said: "Once again we had a much-needed win to keep in touch with the Division One leaders. "We have games in hand over all teams above us in the league, but we must keep our good run going with consistent play and all-round team effort each week."
Narberth 1 Monkton Swifts 4
Monkton Swifts may have taken a giant leap towards yet another league title after this comprehensive victory over Narberth, but Bluebirds manager Paul Phillips is still convinced his team can pip them to the post.
Phillips had no excuses for the defeat, saying that the Swifts dominated in the second half, yet with two games in hand over Saturday's visitors to Jesse Road, he is adamant that his team can recover from this setback.
"We gave away two silly goals and that's what cost us. They had the wind in the second half and dominated the game, but we've still got everything to play for; we're only seven points adrift and we can make that up I'm sure."
Ben Goldsmith gave the Swifts a 1-0 interval lead after a direct free-kick and added another in the second half to go alongside goals from Steve Davies and Lee Jones.
David Gillard scored the home team's only goal, although it was no consolation for him that it was the best goal of the match.
Neyland 6 Tenby 0
After the failure to field two teams the previous week, Tenby were able to raise teams to play both league matches on Saturday.
Neyland, who are 10th in the table, scored three goals in each half, but it was another fighting performance by the Tenby team.
Craig Power scored twice for Neyland and the other goals were scored by Simon Morgan, Paul Hannon, Brian Mathias and Jason Phillips. Second Division Cup - First Round
Clarbeston Road 5 Kilgetty 1 (after extra-time)
Kilgetty manager Andrew Cope had two reasons for feeling glum after his side were knocked out of the second division cup. Firstly, it took the home side until the second half of extra-time to truly break down the visiting defence and secondly, he was the man who let in all five goals.
A goalkeeping crisis before the match forced the visiting boss to don the number one shirt, although it's doubtful whether this was a game that he'll be remembering for a while.
At full-time the scores were tied 1-1, with Jack Bevan the man to score for Kilgetty, but the home side pulled clear after 90 minutes as they went into the second period of extra time 2-1 up and then took command to score another three goals as the game came to a close.
Daniel Rees and Richard Bevan each scored twice for Clarbie and Nick Doncaster scored the other goal.
Despite the defeat, Kilgetty's Nicky Cope thought his team performed well.
"It wasn't a bad performance by us at all; it's just that every time they attacked up field they seemed to score."
Prendergast Villa 4 Saundersfoot Sports 1
Prendergast Villa showed why they are second in the division two league table. Prendergast are a good young side, all of whom are fit and dangerous on the break and Villa have an excellent league record this season.
Although the visitors played well during the first 20 minutes, Villa eventually got on top and built up a lead of two goals at half-time.
In the second half, Villa added two more goals, before Ben Gray scored a late goal for Sports with a cross-come-shot.
Saundersfoot competed throughout the match and are still in quite a healthy position in the table after slipping down from fourth to fifth.
James Caine and Russell Evans both had good games for the visitors, although some of their team-mates were a little below par.
Hundleton 0 Pendine 5
The Seagulls eased their way into the next round following this comfortable win, although they nearly didn't finish the game at all as the referee almost called it off due to the conditions in the first half. It's a good job he didn't, as the Seagulls were only winning 1-0 at the time through a goal by Wesley Reynolds.
After the break, though, and it was one-way traffic as Reynolds scored again to go alongside a fine hat-trick by Robbie Waters.
St. Clears 0 Angle 1 (after extra-time)
It wasn't such a good day for St. Clears as they were forced to make the long trek home in the knowledge that they were out of this season's cup. Missed chances by Steve Trivet and Sam Thomas may have cost them the game, but Saints manager Mark Snelling was more philosophical than that. "It was such an even game that it was always going to be a solitary goal that won it. Sadly they were the team to score, when Gavin Wickland found the back of the net.
"I'm disappointed like the rest of the boys, but at least we can concentrate on the league now."
Division Three
Lawrenny 8 Pembroke United 0
Lawrenny played well to pick up their fifth win of the season and scored four goals in each half. The first goal came from an own goal after a goalmouth scramble when a shot by Stefan Jenkins went in to the back of the net off a Pembroke player.
Kim Harland extended the lead following good work by Steve Lewis and Mike Howe and then Steven Lewis scored the third after being put through by Stefan Jenkins.
A tap-in by Rob Williams from a Steve Lewis cross brought the tally to four before the interval. In the second half, Steve Lewis completed a fine hat-trick and 16-year-old Dean Morris, who was making his first start in division three, scored the seventh goal.
Mike Howe completed the scoring for the afternoon when he curled the ball from the edge of the box over the head of the Pembroke 'keeper. It was a good efficient team performance by Lawrenny. Manorbier United 1 St. Florence 2
On a windy afternoon at Manorbier, the visitors enjoyed the wind at their backs in the first half of this local derby and were able to dictate most of the play with the odd breakaway to counter from Manorbier. Former Manorbier player Andrew Culshaw set up the first goal for the Saints with a solo effort and his shot was met by Scott Smith on the rebound and Smith scored. In the second half, Manorbier applied some pressure with the wind at their backs and Ben Hall headed an equaliser from a superb cross by Simon Bolton midway through the second half.
A breakaway by the Saints ended with a superb left-foot finish by Liam Culshaw to clinch the game for the visitors.
All in all, it was quite an even contest which could have gone either way. For the Yellows, Mike O'Neal had an excellent game in midfield and for the Saints there were good performances by Andrew Culshaw up front, Liam Culshaw on the left and fullback Kurt Walsh, who was the man of the match for the visitors. Reserve Cup - Second Round
Haverfordwest Cricket Club 1 Narberth 3
Narberth made it through to the next round of the cup following this easy victory. Two goals by Harry Allen and one by Steve Williamson were enough to dispose of the home side, who had no answer to the visitors' sharp shooting skills and all-round pace on the ball. Darryl Sheehan had a consolation goal for the visitors.
Kilgetty 3 Clarbeston Road 2
Kilgetty managed to do what their first team couldn't as they beat Clarbeston Road to make it through to the next round of the cup. Manager Barry Ormond was full of praise for his team as they weathered a late storm to end up 3-2 winners. "We controlled most of the game and were looking for an easy win, but when they scored two quick goals I started to get a little nervous. Thankfully we held out for an excellent win."
Rob Beynon scored twice in the first half to give them a 2-0 interval lead and then Duane Rossiter scored the third after the break, before Clarbie responded with two late goals by Matthew Brown and Nathan Greene to cause an anxious final few minutes for the visitors.
Reserve Division Two
Carew 2 Pennar Robins 4
Carew were knocked out of the Reserve Cup by Pennar Robins who were three places below them in the league table. Although Ian Sefton and Joe Kidney scored for Carew, a hat-trick by Phil Thompson backed up by a goal from Barry Dilworth enabled the Robins to book a place in the next round.
Hubberston 2 Lawrenny 2
Hubberston built up a lead of two goals in the interval with a strike by Steffan Hull-Palmer and an own goal. Lawrenny came back strongly in the second half and goals by Chris Beff and Paul Brooks gave the visitors a share of the spoils. Goal keeper Geraint Nicholas pulled off some brilliant saves in the closing stages and saved the day for the Lawrenny team. It was an exciting game in the conditions with the strong wind and heavy rain and upon reflection the draw was a fair result.
Saundersfoot Sports 1 Prendergast Villa 5
Prendergast Villa showed why they are the top of the table with a good all-round team performance and clinical finishing. Villa got on top in the first half with three goals and scored two more in the second half, interspersed by a goal from James Thomas. Gareth Richards scored twice for Villa, supported by goals from Chris Williams, Anthony Davies and Mark Cross. For Saundersfoot, there were good performances by two young players, Thomas Spencer in midfield and Simon Stanford at the back, and Andrew Hughes played well at centre half.
Tenby 0 St. Clears 4
Saints spokesman Rob Phillips lavished praise on his team following this win, describing it as a 'dominant performance.' "We should have scored more really. They only had one chance and we had plenty." Three goals in the first half and one after the break was enough to defeat the Seasiders as Dorian Davies scored twice with further scores by Liam Fitzpatrick and Colin Reynolds.
