Division One

Goodwick United 6 Tenby 0

Tenby travelled to their away match at Goodwick United with only 11 players and, although the visitors battled hard, the task became increasingly difficult as no substitutes were available. The Goodwick team scored three goals in each half, including a penalty in each half by Rob Hughes. The other scorers were Daniel Williams with two, backed up by goals from Steve Evans and Alan Davies. Lloyd Wilson played his first full game of the season for Tenby in the centre of midfield and a number of players who were unavailable on Saturday will be available for tomorrow's home clash against Narberth.

Carew 2 Hakin United 2

Richard Bullock summed up the views of his team-mates after the match when he said: "Although we were delighted to have a point, at the end of the day we were slightly disappointed not to have won this game." The Vikings took the lead with two early goals scored by 16-year-old striker Aaron Owens. Carew had some chances to score, which were not taken, and the visitors could also have increased their lead. At the start of the second half, Carew bounced back with two goals in the space of three minutes. James Buckle clawed the first goal back when he picked up a cross over the top of the Hakin defence and in a similar move Buckle picked up another cross to provide the assist for Kieran Stone to level the scores. Carew mounted a series of attacks and might have scored more goals with more accurate finishing, particularly in one-on-one situations. In the last 20 minutes, substitute Seb Palin used his pace to beat the Hakin defenders, but the winning goal proved elusive for the Carew team on the day. It was an excellent all-round team performance, with everyone working hard for a common purpose. In the absence of skipper Daryl John, experienced defender David Lewis proved to be a capable deputy.

POSTPONED

The matches between Kilgetty and Neyland, Monkton Swifts and Saundersfoot Sports and St. Ishmaels and Narberth were all postponed because of waterlogged pitches.

Division Two

Pembroke Boro 0 Pendine 2

This mid-table battle ended with a win for the Seagulls. A goal by Simon Evans was supplemented by a penalty from Justin Blewitt.

St. Clears 4 Letterston 0

Struggling to avoid relegation before Christmas, the Saints have picked up five wins in successive matches and were worthy winners in this home match with Letterston. Paul Edwards opened the Saints' account after 10 minutes when he picked up a long ball to score in the left corner and Dian Glynn increased the lead before the interval. In the second half, Dian Glynn picked up his second goal of the match when he finished off a break down the left by Owen Edwards, and a penalty by Jason Baxter after Sam Thomas had been brought down completed the scoring for the afternoon. It was a good all-round performance by the St. Clears team who were strong in defence, creative in midfield, with goal scorers seizing every opportunity to score.

Division Three

Manorbier United 0 Hundleton 4

This top-of-the-table clash was played in windy but fair conditions. Hundleton came to Manorbier seeking to renew the chase on Pembroke at the top of the table and had the better of the early exchanges. Midway through the first half, Barry Palmer gave the visitors the lead when he ran on to a through ball and scored again from a similar move to extend the lead before half-time. In the second half, Manorbier battled well. Although United created chances, they could not pull a goal back and in the later stages of the half, Rob Jones increased the lead further for the visitors with a penalty. Scoring was completed with an unfortunate own goal for Manorbier. James Nicholas worked hard in defence for the Manorbier team and Adam Thorne was creative in midfield.

Reserve Division One

Tenby 1 Goodwick United 7

Tenby held their own for most of the first half, but eventually the visitors proved to be a better footballing side who took all of their chances. In the second half, Goodwick capitalised on their lead of two goals by adding five more in what became one-way traffic. Gavin Robb proved to be a livewire up front for the visitors and scored a hat-trick, as did Dominic Sinnett, and the other goal came from Michael Griffiths. Johnny Badrock did get his name on the scoresheet for Tenby after the visitors scored five goals, but otherwise the Tenby team were unable to convert chances into goals. Simon Berridge had an excellent game in the centre of defence for Tenby in his first start for the team, while Johnny Badrock and Jack Christopher ran tirelessly up front.

Reserve Division Two

Hundleton 1 St. Clears 2

Although the Saints came close to taking an early lead through Steve Aston, Hundleton dominated most of the first half. Something had to give in the St. Clears defence and the visitors were one goal down at the interval following an unfortunate own goal by Ian Davies. In the second half, the Saints raised their game and started to get on top. Colin Reynolds had a good chance to score, before Daniel Steele levelled the scores with a header from a corner. Dai Nicholas had a shot cleared off the line and then Daniel Steele put the Saints in front with a repeat of his first goal. Although Hundleton had the occasional breakaway, the Saints were in control during the second half and deserved to win the game. For the visitors, Anthony Howells and Mel Lewis proved to be reliable defenders and Dai Nicholas worked hard in mid-field.

Reserve Cup Second Round

Hubberston 0 Carew 5

The visitors played down the slope in the first half towards the muddier end of the field. Prior to the interval, there was little evidence of the wide gap between the two teams in the league and Hubberston created two good chances which, if taken, could have had an effect on the result. At the start of the second half, Phil Jones scored the first of his four goals for Carew. He finished an excellent interpassing midfield move and then ran on to a ball over the top and made the most of a one-on-one situation. As soon as the goal was scored, Hubberston heads appeared to drop and the lead was extended by Phil Jones with a copycat goal. Carl Chapman picked up the third goal for the visitors when he won the race to the ball, chipped the Hubberston 'keeper and then Jones completed a fine hat-trick and added one for good measure, both with his reliable left foot. The classy finishing of Jones made a difference and capped an excellent second half performance by the visitors to book a place in the next round.

Milford United 6 Lawrenny 0

Although Lawrenny defended well in the first half, the visitors were playing against the wind and were a bit under the cosh. Nevertheless, they did well to restrict the United lead to two goals. In the second half, Lawrenny continued to get stuck in, but the Milford team were dangerous on the break and scored four times through breakaway goals. Generally, the second half was a midfield battle, with Steven James prominent for Lawrenny and, despite the scoreline, Kyle Roberts had a good game in goal. Mathew Salter scored two goals for United, backed up by goals from Leigh Badrock, Andrew Davies, Mark McCarthy and William Goodall.

Narberth 6 St. Ishmaels 0

This was a good all-round team performance by Narberth, who scored three goals in each half. Striker Peter Phillips gave the Bluebirds the lead with a header from a corner and then picked up the second goal after good work by Adi Jones who added a goal himself before half-time when he lobbed the 'keeper. In the second half, Tish held their own during the early stages, but a late second half hat-trick by Adi Jones put the result beyond doubt. The Bluebirds' strikers took their chances on a day when it was difficult to control the ball because of the heavy conditions. For Narberth, there were good performances at the back by Nigel Davies and Daniel James, with Adrian Howells and James Bennett combining well in midfield. Hakin United 5 Kilgetty 0

Remarkably, considering the scoreline, Kilgetty created more opportunities to score, but Hakin won the game by taking advantage of fewer goal-scoring chances. A back pass by Lee James to Kilgetty 'keeper Andrew Cope opened the scoring for the Vikings, but Kilgetty should have put more chances away in the first half, with Anthony Bevan going close with a free-kick, Tony Hill forcing the Hakin 'keeper to pull off a good save and Barry Ormond also just missing out on a chance. At the start of the second half, Anthony Bevan almost equalised, but then the Vikings picked up their second goal through Robert Whitby. Lee James had another opportunity to score for Kilgetty, who also had a penalty appeal turned down, before Hakin scored their third goal through Andrew Charneley, which was undoubtedly the goal of the match. Two more scoring opportunities were created and taken by Hakin to bring the total to five goals. For the visitors, Tony Hill was active up front, Dave Marklew defended stoutly at the back and Anthony Bevan had a good all-round game in midfield.

Camrose 6 Pendine 0

As the Pendine pitch was waterlogged, this cup fixture was switched to Camrose. Although the Seagulls lost by six goals, the final scoreline was slightly flattering to Camrose, as Pendine created plenty of chances without being able to finish with a goal. For Camrose, John Williams and Nicky Elliott picked up a brace of goals each and the other goals were scored by Phil James and Jason Giggens. Robert Thomas had a good game for Pendine on the right side of midfield and Jonathon Davies stood out in the old-fashioned centre-half position.

Third Division Cup (First Round)

Lamphey 3 Templeton 2

With the Templeton ground being waterlogged, this cup fixture was switched to Lamphey. The visitors opened the scoring with a goal by Mathew Lewis, created by Morgan Preece, but Robert Matthias equalised for Lamphey when he tapped the ball in from a short distance. Nicky Phillips made it a good first half for the Templeton team when he lobbed the Lamphey 'keeper to give the visitors the lead at the interval. In the second half, Ross Fortune equalised for Lamphey when he picked up a cross from the right. With everything back in the melting pot, the result could have gone either way, but Byron Woodward scored the winner for Lamphey when he managed to find the back of the net from a crowded box. Morgan Preece and Anthony Evans both had eye-catching displays for Templeton in midfield.
