Local singer-songwriter Cherie Morgan has been enjoying further success on the music scene recently.
One of her songs 'Crazy Insane', has been selected as a finalist in the Make it Break It songwriting awards.
'Crazy Insane' is Cherie's latest song and as a finalist, she and her guests have won the opportunity to attend the prestigious award ceremony at the world-famous Paul McCartney Auditorium at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts on Saturday, October 30.
The following day, Cherie, of Summerhill, will have the opportunity to attend a masterclass and questions and answer session with music industry officials.
In the meantime, Cherie's song is with the official judging panel which includes Mark Radcliffe, Steve Levine, Harvey Goldsmith, EMI Music Publishing and the head of music at HMV. They will listen to each of the 12 finalists' songs and select three songs from the two age categories.
Should Cherie's song be selected, her prize will include an all expenses paid five days at the Music Industry Academy.
Meanwhile, another of Cherie's songs 'One last chance', has recently won an American web-based talent competition 'Make a star' and also achieved a Highly Commended in the UK Songwriters Competition 2010.
Furthermore, Cherie's song 'I wanna be me' achieved semi-finalist in the UK Songwriters Competition 2010.
Cherie, herself, has just completed a BTEC performing arts course and will be progressing onto Middlesex University in September where she will be continuing with her performing arts studies and song-writing.
Said Cherie: "Being in London will hopefully give me more opportunities to develop myself as an artist and songwriter. My roots and my heart, though, will always be in Pembrokeshire, where Saundersfoot Footlights first instilled in me at the age of eight a desire to perform."
Cherie will be performing at the paella festival in Tenby on August 3.
