Pembroke Dock sailor Danielle Rowe has proved herself to be the best of the Welsh by winning the Welsh Schools and Clubs Championship.
The event, hosted by Mumbles Yacht Club, is undoubtedly one of the biggest events within the Welsh junior sailing calendar.
The Pembroke Comprehensive 14-year-old won the event in the Topper class.
The event was run over two days and with Danielle winning the first four races on the Saturday, she led the competition in the Topper class overnight.
Sunday saw a dramatic change in the weather, with winds gusting up to 30 knots, and with Danielle only needing one top six result to clinch the title, she sailed to victory despite the conditions.
"I am delighted to have won this championship and I owe a lot to the great coaching I have had from the Welsh national coach, Paul Simes, and the RYA," she said.
Danielle, a member of the Welsh and British National Junior Sailing Teams, is now gearing up for two major national and international competitions in August, the British Nationals in Pwllheli and the Topper World Championships in Lake Garda, Italy.
