Saundersfoot sailor Andrew Dennis, 21, has just been awarded a campaign medal for service in Iraq by the Royal Navy's top personnel officer. Vice-admiral Sir James Burnell-Nugent presented the medal at the Navy's School of Physical Training, HMS Temeraire, in Portsmouth, where Andrew successfully completed his course to become a physical training instructor. Vice-admiral Burnell-Nugent, who dropped into the establishment to present a group of sailors with their campaign medals, said: "It is always an honour to recognise the service given by our sailors overseas, often in extremely difficult circumstances. I am constantly impressed by their dedication and commitment to the Royal Navy." Andrew, who is now a leading physical trainer, has been in the Navy for four years. As well as five-and-a-half-months in Iraq last year, he also represented the Navy in its Under 21 rugby team. Andrew's parents Hayley and Myrddin and his younger brother Joe also live in Saundersfoot. Andrew is a former pupil of Greenhill School, Tenby.
