Communities in Wales are set to benefit from over £600,000 of National Lottery money to support grassroots projects in their areas.

148 community projects across Wales receive a share of £608,427 under the latest round of the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All small-grants programme.

Among them are several from the Pembrokeshire area, including the following:

Ambleston and Tufton Senior Citizens - Ambleston And Tufton Senior Citizens in Haverfordwest will use the grant to provide a series of activities for older members at risk of social isolation. This grant for £2,285 will fund transport, entrance fees, and refreshments.

Letterston Memorial Hall Limited - Letterston Memorial Hall Limited in Pembrokeshire will use the grant to bring their community together to celebrate their local area through study of astronomy and an exhibition. This grant for £3,350 will fund production of old photos, speaker’s fees, hire of an astrodome, publicity, volunteer expenses and administration.

Llandisilio and District Senior Citizens - Llandisilio and District Senior Citizens will take their members on a series of trips to places of interest to support community cohesion.The grant, of £3,011, will fund transport costs, entrance fees and refreshments.

Tall Ships (Wales) Trust Pembrokeshire - Tall Ships Wales Trust in Haverfordwest will use the grant to increase the accessibility of their biennial Seafair Haven festival to the local community. This grant for £4,750 will fund a three and a half day charter of a suitable vessel, a three day engagement workshop, and a weekend engagement camp.

The Funhouse Prendergast Kids Club - The Funhouse Prendergast Kids Club in Haverfordwest will use the grant to provide a series of Summer School day trips for children between the ages of four and 12. This grant for £1,030 will fund transport costs.

West Wales Malaya and Borneo Veterans - West Wales Malaya and Borneo Veterans in Pembrokeshire will use the grant to take their members on a trip to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ending of hostilities with Indonesia. This grant for £5,000 will fund coach hire, three nights accommodation and a trip on the mountain railway.

Wiston, Clarbeston and Walton Village Hall - Wiston, Clarbeston and Walton East Memorial in Pembrokeshire will use the grant to replace parts of the original roof that have fallen into disrepair and are currently unsafe. This grant for £5,000 will fund the replacement of the side roof.
