Local mums Chris Grills and Carol De'Vall have succeeded in conquering the currents, the cold stinging jellyfish and a friendly family of seals in their swim from Tenby Harbour to Caldey Island.
Narrowly missing the record time for this crossing, Chris and Carol are delighted with their achievement which has raised over £1,200 to be shared between Narberth and Templeton Primary Schools.
Main sponsors for the event were Barclays Bank, Narberth; West Wales Equestrian and Leisure; London Road Mall, Pembroke Dock; and Powell's Cottage Holidays, Saundersfoot.
The swim was also supported by local businesses, parents, pupils and friends.
Chris and Carol wish to thank all involved, both in raising funds and in helping them to achieve a lifetime ambition.
