FINDING out what's on and where to go with children in the local area isn't easy, in fact quite often parents give up out of sheer frustration and instead rely on recommendation or luck. However, local woman Michelle Francis, has launched a new eye-catching guide called Raring2go! which aims to solve this problem by packing its colourful pages with information about local events and services for babies and children (aged 0-11). This will allow mums and dads the time to plan in advance and make sure that the time they spend with their children isn't wasted. Raring2go is out this week, in time for Christmas. It will be available free to parents or carers through school book bags etc, and distributed through meeting points such as libraries, nurseries, play groups, leisure centres, play centres and doctors surgeries. It aims to be the definitive source of information about what to do and where to go in the Carmarthen and Pembroke areas. Specifically, the guide covers Carmarthen, St. David's, Fishguard and Saundersfoot, Pembroke Dock, Tenby, Milford Haven, Haverfordwest and Narberth. Commenting on Raring2go, Michelle said: "Many of my friends have young children and so I know how difficult it can be for them to find out what's going on in the local area. Parents are even sometimes unaware of the local gems literally on the doorstep! So I've really made it my mission to pack the guide full of local information on all types of children's activities and events as well as information and ideas for the parents. Raring2go! also offers great value to the local community as a whole, by promoting local businesses and events to local people and I really love the feeling that what I'm doing really makes a difference. Raring2go! promotes and supports a number of charities and we've even organised for a Raring2go! team to do a sponsored Santa Claus run in Llandissilio for the Children's Hospice in Wales, on December 16." It's easy to get a local school or meeting place put on the distribution list or to promote your local business or event in the guide.
