Pembrokeshire Communities First staged their 'Spring into Spring' event at the Old Priory café, Monkton, last Wednesday to raise awareness of services available to help people manage their money and assist with getting 'job ready'. On a glorious afternoon, representatives from Pembrokeshire CAB, SWALEC, Workways, PAVS, PBI, Turn 2 Us, Want to Work, the Unity project from Monkton and others were on hand to provide information and advice to everyone that visited their stands. Pictured is Monkton resident, Charles Prothero, who having completed a short survey for Pembrokeshire CAB was lucky enough to win an Easter egg kindly donated by Tesco, Pembroke Dock. While parents sought advice, the children got glitter tattoos and took part in an easter egg card deisgn competiton. The winners were Lexi Jenkins (ages three-four), Storm Cresswell (ages five-seven) and Kaydie (ages eight-11).

'Spring into Spring' - Pater Hall, Wednesday, April 30

Two more events are planned for the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock, 1-4 pm, on Wednesday, April 30, and the Hive Centre, Garth, Haverfordwest, 1-4 pm, on Wednesday, May 21. Poverty intervention officer for Pembrokeshire Communities First, Jo Brookman Lloyd said: "It is wonderful to have such an array of professionals gathered in one place to help local people and I would encourage everyone to visit us at the Pater Hall and Hive Centre." CAB financial resilience co-ordinator Peter Dickinson said: "We know there is an array of advice for local people. Bringing it all under one roof so that you can sort out issues on the spot is a fantastic way to tackle problems, and Pembrokeshire Communities First are putting on these events as a regular thing."
