A GROUP of local lads got their 'cool runnings' gear on to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday for a charity known as the JAM Fund (Jamie Adams Memorial Fund).

Grant Hardy, Jake Marsh, Dan Cope, Sam Coleman, Geoff Marsh and Adam Uka carried the bobsled for the whole 13 miles collecting donations in buckets along the way.

Though Cardiff based, Paul and Nikki Adams lost their son to leukaemia some years ago, but have worked tirelessly to help many other families through their difficult times.

Help may come in the form of specialist machines that can take blood counts through the skin rather than invasive needles or a vest that a child suffering with cystic fybrosis can wear during the night while sleeping, which means they do not have to have hours of physiotherapy the following day to clear their lungs, or simply access to a holiday home following a bereavement.
