The British Girls Inter-League Championship for the Macdonald Trophy was played recently at The MacDonald Portal Golf Club, Tarporley, Cheshire.
Among those taking part in the event were a team representing Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire Ladies Golf Association.
The Premier Course looked magnificent bathed in the autumn sunshine, with the leaves turning colour.
And like the surroundings, the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire girls were also magnificent, just missing out on being British champions by a solitary shot. Sadly for them, South West Hants pipped them at the post.
Star of the event, however, was Emma Guerriero, of Tenby, who won both the best gross and best net. Playing off seven, she returned a superb gross 77 (net 70) - four under her handicap.
It was the first time the girls had played as a team; they did exceptionally well and were a pleasure to watch.
Parts of the event were filmed by Sky Sports and should be televised next March.
"We have a great junior team and hope to play in more events in the future," said a spokesperson.
