A local Food Bank has found a new home in Saundersfoot.

The family who set up the facility in memory of James Criddle who spent considerable time offering support to vulnerable people, has thanked the Regency Hall venue for allowing them to have a base to operate from each Tuesday, between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm.

It coincides with the ‘warm space’ run every Tuesday afternoon between 1 and 3 pm at the venue.

Although the Hall is partly out of action at the moment, due to a severe leak earlier this month, it is hoped that the Regency will be back operating fully for the public by next week.

“We’d like to thank the trustees of the Regency Hall for their support - they have been fantastic,” said Rachael Thomas, James’ mother, who along with his father Paul, set up the James Criddle Foundation

“There is a side entrance at the Regency to come into the food bank, for people who don’t want to walk through the reception area.”

“Also, this month, the ‘Saundersfoot Runners’ are adopting us as their charity and on Sunday, February 19 they are doing a 12k run that starts at 9.30 am from the Regency Hall.”

There will be two choices for those wishing to take part, The Skull Run (about 7km) commencing at 9.30 am; and The Harbour Run (about 2km) at 10.30 am.

Participants will run to ‘The Skull’ and back, and then on around the Harbour/The Strand which will be an extra 2km. The route is flat and suitable for everyone.

Please gather donations for your run - instead of money per km you can collect an item for the food bank. All donations should be non-perishable (e.g. tinned meats, vegetables or beans or packets). Other items welcomed include - toilet rolls, shampoo/soap, toothpaste.

Please note - there is no entry fee for this event. It is an informal group doing its best to raise donations for a local organisation. Simply turn up and join in - the more the merrier!

Please wear something colourful (inspired by the James Criddle Foundation logo).

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided by the trustees of the James Criddle Foundation at the finish line.
