On Saturday, July 1, Narberth British Heart Foundation teamed up with local coach company Jones Login to help organise a mystery trip around Wales. Funds were raised by donating £5 from each seat sold.
A grand total of £645 has been raised. The sum of £495 was raised by Jones Login, with an additional raffle held on board which raised £150 to help fight for every heartbeat.
Chris Walters, committee member and organiser, said: “I would like to thank Endaf, Hannah, Geinor, Jeff and Michael at Jones Login for helping organise such a fantastic day out - thankfully the weather held and everyone enjoyed! I would also like to thank Carl John, manager of Spar St. Clears, who kindly donated prizes for the onboard raffle and a special thank you to everyone who supported the day.”
Endaf Jones, managing director of Jones Login, said: “It was a pleasure to be involved and assist with this mystery excursion event. The amount raised exceeded our expectations and here at Jones Login we look forward to arranging another similar charity mystery excursion again next year.”
Ralph Dunbar, chairman of the branch, said: “The excursion was excellent, everyone enjoyed and thank you to Chris Walters and Jones Login for organising. It was a lovely day enjoyed by all.”
Each day in Wales, 25 people lose their lives to cardiovascular disease which can devastate those they leave behind. Thanks to companies such as Jones Login, BHF Cymru is funding pioneering research, central to discovering vital treatments for people living with these conditions.
Jayne Lewis, BHF fundraising manager for South West Wales, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Jones Login for donating £5 per ticket sale to BHF Cymru and for donating the raffle prize, also a big thank you to everyone who supported the excursion to help raise funds for BHF Cymru. Too many lives are lost in Wales each year, and we’re determined to do everything we can to protect more families from this devastation. Around 375,000 people across Wales this month are fighting a daily battle with heart and circulatory disease. Each year, these devastating conditions claim the lives of more than 750 people per month in Wales alone and thanks to the local groups and organisations in the area we’ll be able to fund even more research into these conditions.”
