SAUNDERSFOOT Cadet, Cpl. Jordan Lewis, was among cadets from across the old county of Dyfed who had been chosen to take part in this year's Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in the presence of the Royal Family last Saturday.

The Army Cadet Force National Banner was carried by Sgt. Andrew Howe, of Newcastle Emlyn. Cpl. Jordan Williams, of Tenby, was responsible for carrying the microphones on and off the stage at the Albert Hall. Other cadets formed a guard of honour for the Chelsea Pensioners as they marched through the auditorium.

Cpl. Williams, a public services student at Pembroke College, hopes to join the Royal Military Police. During his three years in the cadets, he has twice represented the county in the shooting competition.

Padre Mark Soady said: "It is often thought that remembrance is only about those who lost their lives in the two World Wars, whereas in fact it is not. Only one year in the last century did not see a British serviceman die in action. This year we mark the centenary of the Boer War.

"Although the Army Cadet Force is not a 'junior army', many of these cadets will go on to serve in the Forces of the Crown, so it is highly appropriate that they take a central role in this Act of Remembrance."
