Local bowlers Ceris Hewlings and John Roberts have been making the news 'Down Under'.
During a recent trip to Australia to visit Ceris's cousin and her family in Glen Waverley, near Melbourne, the couple were naturally keen to visit the local bowls club and have a game.
They found Glen Waverley Bowls Club on the internet at home in Tenby before jetting off on their travels and made contact with secretary Terri Marley inquiring about the possibility of a roll-up at the four-green club.
"When we called at the club, we had a super welcome from Terri and the members," said Ceris, our senior reporter.
"Everyone was so friendly, lending us bowls and equipment, and inviting us to join them for a game. "The greens were really well looked after, while the clubhouse was equally as impressive as well."
On their arrival home, Ceris and John were surprised to receive a copy of the Waverley Leader, the area's local newspaper which carried a story all about the power of the world wide web and how they had tracked the club down prior to their visit.
