It’s starting to become a traditional event in Llangwm’s annual calendar as tickets go on sale for its eighth anniversary Concert for Remembrance. Traditionally organised by St. Jerome’s Church, the concert is once again taking place in Cleddau Reach Primary School as the renovation works on St. Jerome’s Church won’t be completed on time.

“We had hoped to take the concert back to the church this year,” said Pam Hunt, concert organiser, “but due to problems with a medieval lime render refusing to dry out in the 14th century chapel, everything has been delayed by a month. Neverthless, Cleddau Reach School will take more audience and we found last year that it was virtually a sell-out performance.”

Once again Goodwick Brass Band will be providing the repertoire with music for all tastes and this year’s concert is slightly delayed, being on Friday, November 18, at 7.30 pm. That marks the official end of the Battle of the Somme, during which Llangwm lost two of its sons.

People wishing to attend are advised to purchase their tickets early; they are on sale now - £5 for adults and £3 for children. They can be obtained from Llangwm village shop. Alternatively, tickets can be reserved by calling Pam Hunt on 01437 899966 or by emailing her - [email protected] .
